"Maintenance Planning and Scheduling" - £25.00           Buy Now

Why do so many organisations struggle to carry out their maintenance effectively?  One reason may be that maintenance appears as a cost in the company’s accounts and, as with all costs, there is pressure to keep them to a minimum.  Additionally, many of the activities involved in executing maintenance, such as planning and scheduling, may appear on the face of it to be non-value adding.  There is pressure, therefore, to just do the perceived value added activity of attending to the machine without worrying about planning and scheduling the work.

However, there have been many studies that prove that the best in class companies plan over 95% of all their maintenance activities and that properly planned and scheduled maintenance work is three to four times less expensive than unplanned maintenance work. Unfortunately, this is not obvious to the uninitiated so this book is designed to explain how the best in class organisations plan, schedule and execute their maintenance work. It provides the practical information and steps needed to execute maintenance work effectively and efficiently.
